FEEDBACK GALLERIES AND ARTISTS on 1st 7db EVENT
the questions 7db asked were:

1.how did you like 7db and what did you get out of it?
2.how did you like the talks and special events?

bert de leenheer, director transit, belgium:
1. "7db was like inviting the visitors at home. there is a relax atmosphere and more time to look at the art works exhibited, discuss and just have a laugh or smile."
2. "i liked the content of every talk, for the future even more discussion and critical replies would be perfect."

michael meert and lieve vercaemer, directors ter caemer meert, belgium:
1. " we liked the 7db format very much - we've had very many and interesting contacts with wonderful people and enjoyed having a 'home base' during the fair(s) period. the organisation was very smooth and the catering excellent. 7db facilitated future connections and/or cooperations with an array of people/artists/gallerists and this has been very important for us as starting gallerists."
2. "this was a very direct and open way to throw interesting issues into the group, which led to easy conversation and exchange opinions. the brunch table format made it easy to contact with the speakers and follow up in an informal manner."

annette von spesshardt, director spesshardt berlin, germany:
1. "the first 7days brunch was a well curated and powerful group-exhibition with an interesting assembly of artists. the concept of inviting 7 different galleries from 7 countries brought together various aspects of cultural exchange and new sights on contemporary art. the art project was an enrichment because it was easy to make new contacts and have interesting talks with people from all over the world, especially important for me as a re-starting gallerist. the brunch catering was wonderful, the professional organisation and the cordial cooperation of all participants made everybody feel happy."
2. "the talks, as well, gave a well balanced overview with different perspectives of the art machinery. they were infomative and inspiring and the long table format made it easy to have debates. in the future i could imagine 7db to have daily talks without loosing its informal character. good luck for 7db, i enjoyed being part of it!"

vassilios doupas, director the apartment, greece:
1. "great idea, good food, friendly atmosphere, intimate environment. the exhibition was really well put together - unfortunately not many visitors wanted to find out more about the works on display."
2. "i felt the best talks were the ones that were engaging with the audience. such as patricia correias and katerina gregos."

caroline may, artist, the apartment, greece:
1. "great idea and great opportunity to show my work in basel. i liked the relaxed and friendly environment and opportunity to talk to people."
2. "got an idea of what's happening in the arts in other countries - which was good and interesting - but limiting in a way too - would like to hear maybe 1 or 2 more specific/thematic talks.

susanne friedli and elisabeth gerber, directors annex14, switzerland:
1."exhibition and brunch matched with our expectations. as an off-project it is at the beginning difficult to get all the important people in while the biggest art fair takes place in the neighbourhood. we thank erno, dina and britta for their organisation, their good mood and their helping hands throughout the 7db event."
2. "the concept of the talks is very good. it would be important to have each day such a discussion, e.g. that each gallery could organise one morning. themes could be more focussed, length of the talks (45-60 minutes) was perfect."

patricia correia, director patricia correia gallery and faufitown productions, usa:
1. "i enjoyed the intimate environment of meeting curators, collectors and gallerists from around the world. the choice of artists and gallerists was an excellent mix and very well curated by 7db. the common element of "IDENTITY AND EMPTY SPACE" as a theme was interesting and diverse. the international dialogue between us and the guests was something that is pushed aside during art fairs."
2. "i loved the talks and would like more of them in the future. the exchange of artinformation from curators and gallerists on a global level was quite unique on how different countries and museums collect art and how each country is so different on all levels. because of the uniqueness of this project i felt that, after years as a gallerist, it was persuasive and exposed to information that still surprised and excited me. Erno was a great moderator because there's always a tendancy that these dialogues are too long."

corey escoto, artist, faufitown projects, usa:
1. "7db is a great networking opportunity offering the time and environment for discussion. many people could visit the show, see the art, have something to eat and come back another day. the 7db is the networking alternative to the afterparties. i enjoyed 7db because the long breakfast table was placed in the center of the art installation so that discussions were not divorced from the art. the long table provided a comfortable atmosphere for strangers to meet and become friends. as a stranger to the european art community it was helpful to have the 7db team there to facilitate in the bringing of people together from all countries."

rae anne robinett, faufitown projects, usa:
1. "7db is an excellent event. it's uniqueness lies in that it is precisely NOT another art fair. the manner in which 7db has set up its platform with a curated exhibition and focused discussions made it feel like an international art world summit. this also facilitated meeting people and discussing subjects around a large elegant table in the middle of the exhibition space."
2. "the talks were impressive. vroonen was an insightful and provocative moderator. it was fascinating and intrigueing to hear international art world perspectives from other gallerists and museum professionals."
